The
European Capital of Culture PAFOS2017 invites you to the opening of
the project ‘ECO ART - Paths on Common Ground. Artists in Situ’
on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at 12:00, at Mylopetres area in Arodes
village. The ‘ECO ART - Paths on Common Ground. Artists in Situ’
is organized by the Cultural Association ex Artis and curated by
Thouli Misirloglou, Art Historian and Director of Macedonian Museum
of Contemporary Art. The project aims to attract the public’s
interest towards the area of Akamas, turning it into a broad artistic
workshop. Ten artists from Cyprus and Europe discover the natural and
manmade environment of the Akamas, recall memories of the place and
history, explore the relationship between art, nature and life. They
propose alternative ways of understanding an area with such wealth,
but also questions about its future. As guides towards new paths,
they create a new "common ground" on real territory, with
Arodes village as its centre.
